We hope these answers to frequently asked questions about Parade will be helpful to you in visiting the homes and enjoying the events!
1) WHERE CAN I GET A PARADE BOOK?
There are three ways to get your free copy of the "Tour Book" for the 19th Annual Parade of Homes ...
- By visiting this web site, locate the Parade Home closest to you and visit on June 19, 20, 26 or 27 between 1-5 pm. All Parade Homes have copies of the book for you to take with you.
- If you subscribe to the Peoria Journal Star, a copy of the Tour Book will be included in your home delivery on Saturday, June 19.
- You can stop by any CEFCU Member Center in Peoria, Pekin, Washington, Morton, East Peoria or Chillicothe to pick up your free copy of the book.
2) ARE THE HOMES FOR SALE?
Some of the homes are available for sale, and others are pre-sold custom homes that the builder is putting on display to show the type of work they can do for prospective customers. Complete contact information is available on each home on this site and in the Tour Book if you wish to contact a builder and inquire about the availability and price of a particular home.
3) ARE ALL OF THE HOMES DECORATED?
Some homes are completely finished, some include furnishings and decorations. Others are in various stages of construction to allow potential buyers the opportunity to make personal choices if they should purchase the home. Please remember this is a new home construction event, and not a tour of decorated homes. This is the chance for builders to demonstrate the quality of their construction!
4) WHY AREN'T THE HOME LOCATIONS RELEASED EARLIER?
The purpose of this event is to create consumer traffic for the Parade Homes on the weekends of the event. For that reason, information on the home locations is held until the week of the event dates. Some homes are owner-occupied, and many of the homes are in final preparation stage prior to the event. In either scenario, they are not ready to receive early visitors.
5) OTHER QUESTIONS
We are happy to answer other questions you may have about the event if you would like to email through the "Contact Us" button. The Home Builders Association of Greater Peoria is a local not-for-profit trade association representing builders in Peoria, Woodford, Tazewell, Fulton and Knox Counties in Illinois. While we do monitor emails at times other than office hours, please allow time for our response if you are making contact in the evening or on the weekend. Our Executive Director will reply to emails, but we do not reply to requests with only a phone number listed to respect your privacy.
Most importantly ... if you have comments or feedback about the event, please don't just leave it in the form of negative "hit and run" messages. Please provide your comments and leave an email address for reply with your information so that we may contact you and address your concerns. We have a small staff, but we do care and will respond.
